Passionate about Purple

It's a statement color - you can either get it wrong and achieve Tart's Trailer 1981 or get it right and create lush, regal, romantic and majestic interiors.

Here's a few people that took the plunge and aced it!

Depending on how you're looking at it, you might feel it's the love child of Goth Meets Shabby or quite Anna Sui...or possibly both. Either way, it's feminine, delicate and elegant despite using strong colors of purple laced with black.

This one has balls of brass...or antique gold. I'm a sucker for sticking with a two color punch, it has so much impact.
If you know the source I'd be delighted to include it.

You could add a little purple pleasure to anywhere with a well arranged collection of items, and this creative has done just that. I feel like I should introduce them to the room owner above, a kindred gold purple spirit...

Here's the one-two punch again, a palette of only two colors, but what glorious love they make:

Maybe purple and gold work so well as they are a naturally regal combo? Here they look fresh and clean with the addition of white cotton:

So much for purple and gold. Is purple and silver regal too? Yes, if you do it with this much style, elegance and panache. Just ohmygawd wow.

But place it artfully next to turquoise and it packs a wallop. Here it manages to evoke a bygone era while being stunningly contemporary. The roses cushion makes me weak at the knees. It's the kind of wonderful that makes you obliged to decorate a room around it.

This is what started my purple mania - the Jacaranda trees of Southern California. They bloom in May. They're so preposterously cartoony they look like fake trees, but turn a whole street into a fairytale.

I'm going to finish off with funky - it works because of the custom lighting. How on earth did they do that? It's bonkers...but in a good way!
