Camper Van Christmas
The very nature of caravans, campers, RV's and trailers harks back to the last century and lends itself to a makeover which leans heavily in the direction of Retro. A new breed of devotees have been inspired to do just that, and the imagination, quality and standard of the transformations has resulted in a proliferation of marvelous interiors online. They are outstanding in their field...or out, standing in their field. They seem to be happy, and who wouldn't be, with a cozy little dream house on wheels that beckons and urges to take to the high roads. They are awash with nostalgia, and we are finally getting to have the glamorous portable vacation that our childhood aspired to, but most definitely wasn't. I hereby consign those dread words, 'We're going for a week in Nan's caravan,' to the dustbin with these fantastic, joyful and Fabulada mobile homes.
The unabashed 1950's retro...sleek! They do love a black and white tile floor, but how great does it work? It's just right for the look!
Mint and pink, offset by bold tile:
Lemony lovely:
Wow to the fixtures - Diner heaven.
The Sixties renegades:
I really dig the chandelier. Every camper has an overhead light - why not make it a chandelier?
Great partition and cheerful paisley.
Don't stop at the walls - paint the sky in there too.
The Shabby Chic feminine ideal - roses everywhere. Aw my god!
The gypsy heart rock and roll Boho. Drums as tables.
Egads! Red vinyl glitter couch. Be still my heart!
But if you wanted more up to date, you could do that too. Just a touch of retro and all comfort.
Mid-Century with the emphasis on Modern. Interesting choice of dark wood flooring. Looks cool.
Chandelier again...very OTT this one.
Restrained lilac and white.
Don't leave the dog behind. Ever.
Happy Trails!
